Real-Time Operating Systems

The operating systems used in real-time, safety-critical systems are designed to support applications with real-time performance requirements, and they have a significant impact on the optimal design of OpenGL® graphics drivers. Seaweed Systems partners with all of the major real-time operating system providers.

Seaweed Systems provides X Window System, OpenGL with X Window System and OpenGL graphics driver products for a wide range of Wind River® VxWorks® real-time operating systems and associated development environments. Seaweed Systems also provides its SeaWind®/178 certifiable driver for Wind River's VxWorks 653 real-time operating system for use in systems with certification requirements. Both product suites are offered in support of a host of different hardware platforms, and Seaweed Systems has been one of Wind River's key platform partners in the aerospace and defense market for many years. The companies have a long history of successfully working together on end customer programs.

Seaweed Systems also provides its SeaWind/178 certifiable driver for Green Hills Software's INTEGRITY-178 real time operating system for use in systems with certification requirements. Both product suites are offered to support a host of different hardware platforms. For years, Seaweed Systems and Green Hills Software have been partners in the aerospace & defense market and have participated in several successful programs.

Seaweed Systems currently provides its certifiable SeaWind/178 products for LynxWorksTM LynxOS®-178 certifiable real-time embedded operating system on a number of different hardware platforms. Seaweed is extending support of LynuxWorks' products by providing future X Window System and OpenGL with X Window System support for other LynxOS variants in the near future on GE Faunc hardware platforms.
